     ― רב ישׂראל! רב ישׂראל, זײַט זשע מוחל! איר קאָנט זיך אונ־
טערנעמען, ס'זאָל זײַן פֿאַרטיק דעם קינדס מלבושימלעך אַף יום־טובֿ?
     אַזױ שרײַט די מאַמע צו ישׂראל דעם שנײַדער מיט אַלע כּוחות,
מחמת ישׂראל דער שנײַדער איז טױב, װי די װאַנט.
      ישׂראל, אַ הױכער ייִד מיט אַ לאַנג פּנים און מיט װאַטע אין די
אױערן, טוט אַ האַלבן שמײכל און אַ מאַך מיט הער האַנט. װי אײנער
רעדט: „פֿאַרװאָס זאָל נישט זײַן פֿאַרטיק?“ ...

אױב עס קאָן זײַן פֿאַרטיק אַף פּסח.
      ישׂראל דעך טױבער טוט אַ קוק אַף דער מאַמע, װי אײנער רעדט:
„אַ מאָדנע ייִדענע! דאַכט זיך, גענוג אַז מע זאָגט אײן מאָל?“ ... און
ער שלעפּט אַרױס פֿון בוזעם־קעשענע אַ לאַנגע פּאַפּירענע מאָס מיט
אַ גרױסער ענגלישער שער און שטעלט מיך אַװעק און הײבט מיך אָן
אױסצומעסטן אין דער לענג און אין דער ברײט, און די מאַמע שטײט
באַ דער זײַט און קאָמאַנדעװעט:
     ― לענגער, נאָך לענגער!... ברײטער, נאָך ברײטער!..   למען־
השם, די הײַזלעך נישט פֿאַרשמעלן!... און דאָס קאַפּאָטקעלע זאָל זײַן
