Ὑψαγόρας: ὑψιλόγος. ἐχρῆτο δὲ κομπολογίαις καὶ ὑψηγόρας τις ἦν καὶ τραχύς. ὁ δὲ Βῶνος κατ' οὐδὲν τοῖς ῥήμασιν ὑποχαλάσας ἀνεμίμνησκε τῆς ἐν Σκυθίᾳ μάχης.

[1] Likewise or similarly in other lexica, including Apollonius' Homeric Lexicon; references at Photius upsilon327 Theodoridis. The headword itself seems to have the short alpha, as in Homer, while the quotation which follows has a long vowel with Ionic spelling ὑψηγόρας ; cf. upsilon 745.
