"For [she was?] a young girl recently emerging from her maiden's chambers".
Greek Original:
Ὑπεξιοῦσα: νεᾶνις γὰρ ἄρτι τῶν παρθενικῶν θαλάμων ὑπεξιοῦσα.
The headword, presumably extracted from the quotation, is present participle of ὑπέξειμι (from εἶμι "go"), feminine nominative singular. The quotation itself -- already (but with a different compound verb) at epsilon 2060, q.v. -- was attributed to Aelian by L.K.Valckenaer (1715-1785); to Symeon Metaphrastes by Adler.
