Θωπεία: κολακεία. ἡ περισσὴ πρός τινας κολακεία, καὶ τὸ μὴ ἐλευθέρως προσφέρεσθαι τῇ κολακείᾳ τοῖς ὑπερέχουσιν. Ἀντιφῶν ἐν τῷ Περὶ ὁμονοίας: πολλοὶ δ' ἔχοντες φίλους οὐ γινώσκουσιν, ἀλλ' ἑταίρους ποιοῦνται θῶπας πλούτου καὶ τύχης κόλακας.
