Headword: Θεστιάδες
Adler number: theta,287
Translated headword: Thestiads, Thestios' daughters, Thestius' daughters
Vetting Status: high
Translation:
They were fifty daughters out of many women with whom Heracles had intercourse.
Greek Original:
Θεστιάδες: ἐκ πολλῶν γυναικῶν ἦσαν ν# θυγατέρες, αἷς Ἡρακλῆς ἐμίγη.
Note:
Repeated from theta 274. The headword appears both times as Thestiades, but at 274 alphabetical order requires it (as Bernhardy noted) to be Thespiades, and Thespius is indeed the commoner form of the name of this man (the eponym of the city of Thespiai: theta 276, theta 277, theta 278). See e.g. Diodorus Siculus 4.29; Apollodorus 2.7.8.
