The [sc. Attic] orators used not to call ['summer'] the season, like 'winter and spring and summer', but they named thus the harvested fruits of the seeds.

Θέρος: οὐ τὸν καιρὸν οἱ ῥήτορες ἐκάλουν, οἷον χειμῶνα καὶ ἔαρ καὶ θέρος, ἀλλὰ τοὺς συγκομιζομένους καρποὺς τῶν σπερμάτων οὕτω προσηγόρευσαν.
