'Sosthenion' is a late variant of Leosthenion (or Lasthenes), on the European shore of the Bosporus, north of Byzantium/Constantinople; Barrington Atlas map 53 grid B2.
Claudius Ptolemy also gives a 'Sosthenis' in Thessaly.
