The headword (present indicative active, third person singular) must be quoted from somewhere but is attested only in lexicography, where this verb has two (related?) meanings ascribed to it: the one given here and the one given in the next entry (sigma 652), where it refers to a noisy slap on the belly or rear delivered with the foot. Hesychius sigma1082 alludes to both definitions.
