Notes:
[1] The headword is feminine dative plural of this adjective (for which see also sigma 1700). It must be quoted from somewhere; there are numerous possibilities. Same glossing in the Synagoge (sigma391) and Photius (sigma847 Theodoridis), and cf. already e.g. Hesychius sigma2823-2824.
[2] Aristophanes, Plutus [Wealth] 754, with scholion.
[3] The source of this phrase is unidentifiable, but there is a very similar one -- suxno\n xrusi/ion -- in Polybius (21.38.3) and Plutarch (Demetrius 27.12; Moralia 258E, 579E).
[4] cf. epsilon 805, where this unidentifiable passage (transmitted, in Adler's view, via the Excerpta Constantini Porphyrogeniti) is quoted more fully.
[5] Iamblichus, Babyloniaca fr. 84 Habrich; cf. pi 2026.
