Notes:
This entry illustrates two different (but connected) senses of the aorist participle sumbalo/nta, from sumba/llw. For this verb cf. also sigma 1354, sigma 1355.
[1] Procopius, Secret History 15.25 (on Theodora's humiliation of a senior patrician), but here approximated -- and garbled: the aorist participle ai)tiasa/menos should be the future participle ai)tiaso/menos (as in Suda mss GM, Adler reports), and the ungrammatical aorist infinitive dehqh=nai should be the future participle dehqhso/menos. Procopius' text is translated here.
