Greek Anthology 6.307.3-4 (Phanias), on the barber Eugathes who forsakes his trade for philosophy, but returns to it when facing starvation; quoted from phi 120, q.v.; cf. Gow and Page, vol. I (163-164), vol. II (473-475), and further extracts from this epigram at alpha 889 and psi 66. The Anthologia Palatina (AP) reads suno/nuxas, whereas the Suda follows the emendation of the AP scribe designated C (the Corrector) in transmitting sulo/nuxas; cf. Gow and Page, vol. I (164).
