[Used] with an accusative. [Meaning he/she/it] gives form, regulates, straightens.[1]
Damascius [writes]: "but whatever he wrote had a high-minded and effective character, but not at all well harmonized as to the verses: but of these whatever turned out unmetrical, and in other respects not according to the suitable order, he entrusted to me to set right."[2]
Notes:
[1] Likewise or similarly in other lexica (references at Photius rho174 Theodoridis), and cf. the scholia to Lucian (30.12 Rabe), on ῥυθμιζέτω in How to Write History 48. The present entry's ῥυθμίζει is also, evidently, quoted from somewhere -- perhaps again Lucian (De saltatione 6). [The quotation which follows contains the related noun ῥυθμός , for which see also rho 288.]
[2] Damascius, Life of Isidore fr. 113 Zintzen (61 Asmus), quoted also at epsilon 1155 and tau 262. Cf. Photius, Bibliotheca 339b 4-6.
