Similar glosses appear in Hesychius and other lexica. Adler reports identical entries in the Ambrosian Lexicon (242, 238) and also 'Aquila in Ies. [= Ezekiel] 27.4'. This latter is neither alpha 1041 nor alpha 1042 but an OT commentator of the second century CE; see generally his fragmenta in J. Reider, rev. N. Turner, An index to Aquila (Leiden 1966).
The form r(w=ya is attested only here. The headword itself -- r(w/y (A) in LSJ -- occurs in Homer only in the plural, meaning "brushwood" (cf. rho 257).
