Translation: [Meaning on] a dry twig, a rush mat.[1] "For the sake of profit, [he] would sail even on a wickerwork mat." [This] would be said in reference to a lover of gain. But it is also said otherwise: "sailing with a [willing] god" -- or best, sailing for a [willing] god -- "even if one sails on a wickerwork mat."[2]
Also [sc. attested is the dative plural] r(i/pesi ["with wickerwork things"], [meaning] with the branches of the willow-tree.[3]
