Headword: Παροιστρῶσι
Adler number: pi,740
Translated headword: they would be goaded
Vetting Status: high
[Meaning] they would abase themselves in spirit.
Greek Original:
Παροιστρῶσι: παρακαθήσωσι θυμῷ.
= Synagoge, Photius pi429 Theodoridis. The headword, unattested elsewhere, is present subjunctive (to judge by the gloss) active, third person plural, of παροιστράω (see also pi 739), glossed here with (apparently) an aorist subjunctive.
For the verb in the glossing phrase, Adler notes suggested emendations by two of her predecessors: παρακατοίσωσι (Kuster), παρασταθῶσι (Bernhardy).
