[sc. Something said] proverbially. For previously the rich used to bathe together with the poor in the baths. Aristophanes in Anagyrus [says]: "but everyone should bathe together and share the sponges."[1] That is, [the poor] should go in with the rich, so that they need not take sponges but use theirs.
