The unglossed headword purgai=os is attested only here (and is lacking, Adler reports, in ms F). It might be an adjective meaning 'tower-like' (i.e. a variant of pu/rgeios, for which see Hesychius s.v. purgh/rhs, quoting Ion), or else a personal name.
