Πτολεμαῖος, Κυθήριος, ἐποποιός. οὗτος ἔγραψε περὶ ψαλακάνθης. ἐν τούτῳ δέ φησιν, ὅτι βοτάνη ἐστί, θαυμαστήν τινα δύναμιν ἔχουσα.
Notes:
The psalakantha is simply 'a fabulous plant' in LSJ. It is also mentioned by the comic poet Eubulus (fr. 28 Kock, now 27 K.-A.), and in late lexica.
[1] The large island off the southern Peloponnese (kappa 2629).
