Headword: Πρίου
Adler number: pi,2296
Translated headword: buy!
Vetting Status: high
Translation:
[Meaning] liberate!
Greek Original:
Πρίου: ἐλευθέρωσον.
Notes:
Second-person singular imperative(s). Same entry in the Synagoge, Photius (pi1166 Theodoridis), and the Lexica Segueriana -- and there are no other attestations. Hesychius has (ἀγόρασον and) ἐλευθέρωσον as glosses for the compound ἐκπρίου , quoted from Proverbs 24.11 LXX. Quite possibly, therefore, πρίου is modified from that passage.
The expected second-person singular imperative of ἐπριάμην is πρίω , for which see pi 2297.
