Notes:
The adjectival form in the lemma is a comparative, in the masculine nominative singular, deriving from the noun pre/sbus, -ews, -eos, o( (old man); see generally LSJ s.v. and cf. pi 2257. On Kodros, see n. 3 below. [In her critical apparatus Adler reports that this passage was omitted by ms A, but restored within the margin by the transcriber of Parisinus 2626.]
[1] cf. a scholion (= D scholia) to Homer, Iliad 9.60 (web address 1).
[2] This additional gloss is the same as given by Hesychius. It was omitted by ms F (so Adler).
[3] Kodros (fl. C11 BCE?) was a legendary king of Athens; see OCD4 s.v. Codrus, epsilon 3391, and kappa 1908. This and the previous gloss (n. 2) are the same as given in Photius, Lexicon pi1156 Theodoridis, q.v. for further references. [Adler reports that ms F omitted this remark.]
[4] Quotation -- already more fully at pi 2257, q.v. -- unidentifiable. [The quotation was omitted by ms F (so Adler).]
