A common Greek name: LGPN ii lists 57 in Athens alone, including the eponymous archon of 444/3. Nevertheless, there can be little doubt that the Praxiteles who has generated this entry is the Athenian sculptor (from the tiny Erechtheid deme Subridai), the most celebrated exponent of his craft in C4-BCE Athens (c.400-c.340).
