Notes:
The transmitted headword is '[a] philosopher', and as such it occupies its correct place in alphabetical order. But plainly a proper name went missing (at an early stage in transmission), and comparison with Diogenes Laertius 3.37 shows that it is that of Philippos of Opous (fl. c.350 BCE). On him see G.J. Toomer in OCD4 s.v. Philippus(1).
