Aristophanes [writes as follows] about Kleon: "How the cursed man eats bending over!" By the expression he indicates the man's gluttony. For of men and other creatures those who most often bend over and lie down for their food seem to eat insatiably and greedily.[3]

Ἀριστοφάνης περὶ Κλέωνος: οἷον δὲ κύψας ὁ κατάρατος ἐσθίει. διὰ τοῦ σχήματος τὴν ἀδηφαγίαν αὐτοῦ δηλοῖ. καὶ γὰρ τῶν ἀνθρώπων καὶ τῶν θρεμμάτων οἱ μάλιστα τοῖς ἐδέσμασιν ἐγκεκυφότες καὶ προσκείμενοι δοκοῦσιν ἀπλήστως καὶ περισπουδάστως ἐσθίειν.
