Headword: Οὐρανοβάμονος
Adler number: omicron,938
Translated headword: heaven-traverser's
Vetting Status: high
Translation:
[Meanihng] of the heaven-walker.
Interpretation of a dream: to see the pole [sc. of the heavens] turning, this [is] mysterious.[1]
Greek Original:
Οὐρανοβάμονος: τοῦ οὐρανοφοίτου. λύσις ὀνείρου: πόλον βλέπειν θέοντα μυστικὸν τόδε.
Notes:
The headword, evidently quoted from somewhere, is a rare two-termination adjective in the genitive singular; see generally LSJ s.v. οὐρανοβάμων . It occurs as an epithet of abstract nouns such as astronomy and theology, and of divinely-inspired persons. The Doric form suggests a source in lyric poetry or tragic lyrics, but no such source is attested.
[1] From the dream-interpretations, in verse, attributed to Astrampsychus (alpha 4251); again at pi 1921.
