[Meaning] I did not cut, I did not divide. Such was the conjugation in Attic. "Roasting a sausage [...], I was inattentive and did not slit it, and it became inflated". Aristophanes in Clouds [sc. writes this].

Οὐκ ἔσχον: οὐκ ἔσχισα, οὐ διεῖλον. οὕτως ἔκλινεν Ἀττικῶς. ὤπτων γαστέρα, κᾆτ' οὐκ ἔσχον ἀμελήσας, ἡ δ' ἄρ' ἐφυσᾶτο. Ἀριστοφάνης Νεφέλαις.
Notes:
Aristophanes, Clouds 409 (here omitting the phrase 'for my kinsmen': see web address 1), with scholion.
For this imperfect of σχάζω , editors of Aristophanes print ἔσχων (from the Laurentianus CS 140 manuscript), rather than the ἔσχον found elsewhere, including here in the Suda.
