Headword: Ὅμοιον
Adler number: omicron,311
Translated headword: likewise
Vetting Status: high
Translation:
"[Likewise], even if Phileas indicted Andocides for temple-robbery--as if he himself were not the man who stole the gorgoneion of the goddess from the Acropolis."
Note:
Synesius, Encomium on Baldness 19 Terzaghi (= PG 66, 1200b); again at phi 310. See also phi 436, where the man's name is Philourgos. MacDowell 1 n.9 doubts the prosecution of Andocides. However, the theft of the gorgoneion (gamma 393) may be real enough.
