Headword: Νάϊνον
Adler number: nu,15
Translated headword: naval (?)
Vetting Status: high
[no gloss]
Greek Original:
The headword, an adjective in the masculine accusative singular or neuter nominative/accusative singular, is otherwise unattested, and (as Adler notes) Bernhardy reasonably took it to be a faulty version of νάϊον . If so, it is either -- as assumed here -- νάϊος , the Doric form of νήϊος , or else Νάϊος , an (epigraphically-attested) epithet of Zeus at Dodona. (See LSJ for both of these terms.)
