Less awkwardly: as regards Dicaeopolis consorting with the Laconians, any speeches he offers to defend himself are too long from the outset, as far as the chorus of Acharnians is concerned. The word order of the passage emphasises "long", and is open to the interpretation "I will not hear the long speeches (but I might hear the short)", as opposed to "I will not hear the all too long speeches".
