Headword: Μεμηλώς
Adler number: mu,562
Translated headword: attending to
Vetting Status: high
Translation:
[Meaning one who is] taking care of.
Greek Original:
Μεμηλώς: ἐπιμελούμενος.
Note:
Likewise or similarly in other lexica and several Homeric scholia: see the references at Photius mu258 Theodoridis. The headword is perfect active participle of μέλω , masculine nominative singular (cf. mu 561). At Hesychius mu804 (where the gloss is ἐπιμελῶς φροντίζων "concerning oneself carefully") Latte claims the headword as quoted from Homer, Iliad 5.708; a scholion there has διὰ γεωργίας ἐπιμελόμενος, ὅπως πλουτῇ "taking care by farming, so that one prospers".
