Notes:
Also in Photius mu222 Theodoridis (with other references there, including Athenaeus, Deipnosophists 14.655B-E [= 6.71 Kaibel]); and cf. Hesychius mu665 for the opening sentence only.
For Meleager [Author, Myth] see no.1 under mu 469. In Apollodorus his mother Althaia and wife Kleopatra hang themselves after his death, while other unspecified women are transformed into birds.
[1] Not that of Athens, surely (with which this material has no connection); but the location is left unspecified.
[2] Iokallis is otherwise unattested. For Lerna cf. under lambda 302 and upsilon 57; however, in the present context some would emend the toponym to Leros.
