Headword: Μελαγρία
Adler number: mu,443
Translated headword: melagria
Vetting Status: high
Translation:
A kind of plant growing in a desert.
Greek Original:
Μελαγρία: εἶδος βοτάνης φυομένης ἐν ἐρήμῳ.
Note:
The headword is nominative/accusative plural of a neuter noun melagrion; cf. mu 467 for the variant meleagria. Adler suggests Symeon Metaphrastes as a source (at both entries), but in fact the melag- version is quite copiously attested in Cyril's biographies of the saints.
