[Lykabettos] and Parnassos [are] very large mountains, one in Attika and the other in Phokis. "If you are speaking to us of Lykabettoses and the heights of Parnassoses, is this teaching what is useful?".[1] In reference to those boasting for some reason. Aristophanes [sc. says this].

Some editors have followed Bentley in emending Parnassos to Parnes (which is also, like Lykabettos, within Athenian territory); Dover retains Parnassos, and sees nothing odd in its being a "mountain" of a quite different order of magnitude.
