[Meaning someone] having swelling in the bags; that is, those under the eyes.[1]

*kuloidio/wn: ta\ koi=la oi)dw=n: e)/sti de\ ta\ u(po\ tou\s o)fqalmou/s. *qeo/kritos: dhqa\ kuloidio/wnta.
Notes:
cf. already kappa 2545.
[1] = Synagoge, with the exception that the latter displays the Attic/Koine contracted form of the headword kuloidiw=n, instead of the epic/Ionic kuloidio/wn found here. (Compare also Photius, Lexicon kappa1194 Theodoridis, s.v. kuloidia=n.) The headword in this form is otherwise unattested.
[2] Theocritus, Idylls 1.38, which actually has the nominative plural masculine form of the participle, kuloidio/wntes, rather than the form given here (nominative/accusative plural neuter or accusative singular masculine).
Keywords: definition; dialects, grammar, and etymology; medicine; poetry
