Translated headword: of a superior
Vetting Status: high
[Meaning] of god. "No doubt on the basis of some forethought of the superior, Caesar, aiming at what would be advantageous, was accomplishing the things of this kind".[1]
Greek Original:
Kreittonos: tou theou. pronoiai de dê tini tou kreittonos stochazomenos tou sunoisontos ta toiade epetelei ho Kaisar.
The headword, presumably extracted from the quotation given (though see next note), is the genitive singular of krei/ttwn; cf. kappa 2381.
[1] Quotation not identified by Adler, but identifiable via the TLG as a fragment of Menander Protector, De legationibus (section 12) -- but lacking the present headword! The 'Caesar' in question is Tiberius II.
