Vetting Status: high
Translation:
[Meaning one intended] for a furnace.
Greek Original:
Κοδομήϊον: καμινευτικόν.
Notes:
Entry unparalleled in other lexica.
The headword, a neuter noun, is a variant of κοδομεῖον , attested in Pollux 6.64, 7.181, 10.114, and κοδομία, τά Hesychius, and derived from κοδομεύω . The stem is routinely mentioned as Attic for "bake" (e.g. scholia on Homer, Odyssey 18.27), but is not found in any literary texts.
The glossing adjective is attested only here but evidently related to kappa 284.
