Headword: Κίδναται
Adler number: kappa,1589
Translated headword: is spread
Vetting Status: high
Translation:
[Meaning he/she/it] is scattered.
Greek Original:
Κίδναται: σκορπίζεται.
Notes:
Same or similar entry in other lexica. The headword is present middle/passive of κίδνημι , third person singular. It is taken by Theodoridis on Photius s.v. (and already Adler) to be quoted from Homer, Iliad 23.227), though in his apparatus he also mentions Euripides, Hecuba 916, where κίδναται is a variant in some mss for σκίδναται . In fact, the present gloss occurs in the scholia to the instance of the headword in Oppian, Halieutica 5.186.
cf. epsilon 2378.
