Headword: *kakhgorw=
Adler number: kappa,148
Translated headword: I slander
Vetting Status: high
Translation:
[Used] with an accusative. Also [attested is] kakhmorw= ["?I make with difficulty?"][1]; [also used] with an accusative.
Greek Original:
*kakhgorw=: ai)tiatikh=|. kai\ *kakhmorw=: ai)tiatikh=|.
Note:
[1] This verb is attested only here. It seems to have been formed from kako/s and more/w, which LSJ defines as "to make with pain and toil". The fact that we have the form kakhmore/w where kakomore/w would be expected is probably a result of analogy to forms in kakh- like the headword of this entry. (Adler reports that mss GI of the Suda have kakhmanw=, a form which is no easier to explain.)
Keywords: dialects, grammar, and etymology; ethics
