Adler number: eta,617
Translated headword: has acted licentiously
Vetting Status: high
Translation:
[Meaning he/she/it] led a disorderly life.[1]
"[that Demochares] had acted licentiously with the upper parts of his body, and was not worthy to blow on the sacred fire."[2]
Notes:
[1] Likewise or similarly in other lexica. The headword is third person singular, perfect, of ἑταιρέω (cf. eta 618, epsilon 3275). It must be quoted from somewhere: apparently (to judge from the scholia there) Clement of Alexandria, Protrepticus 4.61.3, though one might otherwise have suggested Aeschines 1.160.
[2] Polybius 12.13.1 (web address 1); quoted more fully at delta 472.
