Headword: Ἧσις
Adler number: eta,585
Translated headword: delight
Vetting Status: high
Translation:
[Meaning] pleasure.
Greek Original:
Ἧσις: τέρψις.
Notes:
Same entry in ps.-Zonaras and, according to Adler, the Ambrosian Lexicon; glossed with εὐφροσύνη by Herodian and a scholiast on Hesiod.
The headword is a rare feminine noun derived from the verb ἥδομαι (eta 95 etc.). Other than lexica, grammars, and scholia, the only attestation seems to be one in Cyril of Alexandria.
