Headword: Ἡβῶμαι
Adler number: eta,26
Translated headword: I would be of age
Vetting Status: high
Translation:
and ἡβῷμι and ἡβώοιμι , [meaning] I might grow [up].
Greek Original:
Ἡβῶμαι καὶ Ἡβῷμι καὶ Ἡβώοιμι, αὐξάνοιμι.
Notes:
For this verb, compare generally eta 13, eta 14, eta 19.
The primary headword of the present entry, ἡβῶμαι , could be present subjunctive or indicative, but because of the supplementary lemmata it should doubtless be understood as subjunctive (or possibly as an optative form without a iota). The addenda ἡβῷμι and ἡβώοιμι are both optative. The last, here glossed, comes from Homer, Iliad 7.157; cf. Hesychius eta22.
