Headword: *)=hka
Adler number: eta,158
Translated headword: slightly, a little
Vetting Status: high
Translation:
[Meaning] gently/peacefully.
Greek Original:
*)=hka: h(su/xws.
Notes:
The headword is an epic/poetic adverb. Similar glossing in other lexica, including Apollonius' Homeric Lexicon, and in a scholion on Homer, Iliad 3.155.
According to Chantraine s.v., h)=ka is related to h(/sswn/h(/ttwn (eta 630) and h(/kista (eta 174), but with epic psilosis. Like LSJ s.v., he suggests that it may be cognate with Latin sēg-nis.
