The commonest meanings of the headword noun relate to entry, i.e. either the place where one enters or the act of entering. If this is its area of meaning here, the glossing noun will be best rendered in a general way as introduction vel sim. An alternative, narrower interpretation would see eisodos as a variant of prosodos (pi 2758; cf. eisodiasmos and the verb eisodiazein) and the gloss, accordingly, as levy (cf. epsiloniota 330).
