Εἴποις τὰ τρία παρὰ τῇ αὐλῇ: τοῖς ἐπὶ θάνατον ἀγομένοις παρρησία ἐξῆν σίτου καὶ οἴνου πληρωθεῖσιν τρία λέγειν, ἃ βούλοιντο: μεθ' ἃ φιμωθέντες ἀπήγοντο τὴν πρὸς θάνατον. τὸ δὲ νῦν ἀρχεῖον καλούμενον αὐλὴ ἐκαλεῖτο.
