Poorly attested as such. Rather, a mythological figure (son of Apollo and Aithousa). He, however, was the eponym of Eleutherai (present-day Gyphtokastro) on Attica's NW border with Boeotia: see under mu 451, and generally Stephanus of Byzantium s.v.
An Eleutheros river and city called Eleutheroupolis are also attested.
