Headword: *)ekleipe/twsan
Adler number: epsilon,465
Translated headword: let them leave
Vetting Status: high
Translation:
[no gloss]
Greek Original:
*)ekleipe/twsan.
Notes:
(Entry lacking, Adler reports, in mss ATFV, and placed later in GI.)
The headword seems to be present imperative, third person plural, of the verb e)klei/pw, but see next note.
The gloss is lost, but the entry is probably a Biblical lemma, whose source contains a negative form: so e.g. Proverbs 3.3 LXX, "Let kindness and truth never leave you". See also Psalms 67.3 and 70.13. (All three instances spell the headword e)klipe/twsan, making it aorist rather than present.)
Keywords: dialects, grammar, and etymology; proverbs; religion
