Headword: Ἐβρυάζοντο
Adler number: epsilon,42
Translated headword: they were reveling
Vetting Status: high
[Meaning] they were having a good time.
Greek Original:
Ἐβρυάζοντο: εὐφραίνοντο.
Same entry in Hesychius, ps.-Zonaras and, according to Adler, the Ambrosian Lexicon. The headword is imperfect middle, third person plural, of the verb βρυάζω (cf. beta 567). One would suppose it to be quoted from somewhere, but it is perhaps a mistake: Photius, Lexicon epsilon17 has the equivalent active, ἐβρύαζον (glossed with εὐωχοῦντο ), perhaps extracted from Menander, Aspis 48.
