Translated headword: they were concealing
Vetting Status: high
Translation:
[Meaning] they were hiding.
Greek Original:
*)ekeu/qainon: e)/krupton.
Notes:
A version of Homer, Iliad 3.453, with scholion.
The Suda and ps.-Zonaras mis-present this headword as e)keu/qainon, as if it were the imperfect of a verb keuqai/nw. However, that form would not fit the meter at Iliad 3.453; one should read aorist e)keu/qanon , as in Hesychius epsilon1373 (and Etymologicum Magnum 507.3).
