Some form of the headword verb is used frequently in Homeric formulae for the preparation of meat for a feast. This particular form is third person singular, imperfect indicative active (could be aorist, but the gloss suggests otherwise), with the nu-moveable. It occurs at Iliad 20.479 (web address 1), Iliad 9.210 (web address 2), and Odyssey 14.75 (web address 3). The entry may derive from commentary to one of these passages.
