*)epegxanw/n: katagela/sas. ou) mh\n h( timwro\s di/kh to\n u(bristh\n kai\ u(pero/pthn ei)/asen e)pegxanei=n tw=| tou= *melh/tou qana/tw|.
Notes:
The headword (quoted from somewhere unidentifiable) is the aorist active participle of e)pegxa/skw, masculine nominative singular. (The quotation which follows presents the aorist active infinitive.) See related verbs at epsilon 172, epsilon 2670. This form of the verb appears nowhere else apart from the derivative entry of ps.-Zonaras 825, and the quotation here and at mu 497 are the only non-lexicographical examples of the verb in any form apart from Sophocles fr. 210.49 Radt.
[1] Aelian fr. 69 Hercher (72 Domingo-Forasté), quoted more fully at mu 497, probably via a lost part of the Excerpta of Constantine Porphyrogenitus.
