Headword: Ἐπαγγείλαντας
Adler number: epsilon,1918
Translated headword: proclaiming, asking for
Vetting Status: high
Translation:
[Meaning them] calling upon. "[...] but those who have employed reasoning correctly and have achieved salvation by asking for your assistance."[1]
Greek Original:
Ἐπαγγείλαντας: ἐπικαλεσαμένους. τοὺς δὲ ὀρθῶς λογισμοῖς χρησαμένους καὶ τὴν σὴν βοήθειαν ἐπαγγείλαντας σωτηρίας τετυχηκότας.
Notes:
The headword is the aorist participle, masculine accusative plural, of ἐπαγγέλλω (epsilon 1915); presumably from the quotation which follows.
[1] The quotation (also in ps.-Zonaras) was not identified by Adler but a TLG search reveals it as coming from Theodoret's commentary (PG 80.1476) on Psalm 75.9 LXX.
